IGLA offers community based lacrosse for girls in K-9th grades. Fall and spring leagues, summer camps, clinics, and tournaments provide recreational and competitive options.
IGLA provides girls lacrosse instruction in 55 communities and invites players to participate in IGLA with friends and classmates in their home practice location. IGLA has solid relationships with local communities, high school coaches, parents, and players throughout Illinois.
IGLA provides coaches, coach training, game schedule, uniforms, team equipment and parent communication.
In the spring and fall, IGLA runs community-based leagues for players in 1st-8th grades (we include 9th grade in the fall season), divided into 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th (7th/8th/9th in fall) team levels. We also offer 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th (7th/8th/9th in fall) purple level in the spring and fall for advanced players in some locations. Our motto is, “Where Every Girl Plays!”. Each player gets equal playing time in our programs.
IGLA also offers clinics, tournaments and summer camps for K-9th graders.
IGLA has a dedicated director in each location who plays an integral part in assisting the coaches, understanding the community, and working with the administration.
Our coaches include trained parent volunteers, high school and college aged players, and adults with collegiate experience. Many of our coaches are currently playing or coaching at the local high schools.
All of our officials are trained and certified in US Lacrosse youth rules.
